Mutltiple network range inside vrack on proxmxo

#1

Hi everybody, simple question.
Is it possible to use 2 network range routed in the vrack on same proxmox ?
How should I configure the second network ?

Yes, it’s possible to use multiple IP ranges with Proxmox VM’s / Containers as long as the IP ranges are attached to the VRACK. This allows for seamless migration of containers/VM’s between proxmox hosts.

We use the following configuration on the hosts:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface ens5f0 inet manual (replace with your actual interface name)

iface ens5f1 inet manual (replace with your actual interface name)

auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet static
        address <ho.st.ip.addr>/24
        gateway <host gateway>
        bridge-ports ens5f0
        bridge-stp off
        bridge-fd 0

auto vmbr2
iface vmbr2 inet static
        address 192.168.0.1/24
        bridge-ports ens5f1
        bridge-stp off
        bridge-fd 0

Then for the VM’s, use vmbr2 for their network, and assign IP’s from the ranges attached to the VRACK, with the gateway as the second last IP in the range.
